Americans worry about illegal immigration, and reject the direct solution: Make it legal. Given that, the only reliable and sustainable fix is to reduce the draw. Slash U.S. economic growth, and make the place as unstable and insecure as the countries that the huddled masses are desperate to get out of. Breaking the economy will be hard; all these immigrants are lifting it. But factions are making a good start on instability.
