18 April 2013 - security theater 1

What’s Doing on Broadway?

Maybe security theater would be worthwhile if it rose to the level of actual theater, but it never achieves suspension of disbelief. Ah, look, widely separated SWAT team members wading through the dense crowd with assault rifles, weapons that should never be fired in a crowd, that’s very... unconvincing. Those guns had better be unloaded, what if there’s a crazy in the station?

clue:

Based on security at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia after the Boston Marathon bombing. I suspect there is a crazy in the station—the security manager.

take oh take this clue away
