Anybody know who Sappho was talking about when she wrote “I think men
will remember us even hereafter”? Was it me? It’s been so long I’ve
forgotten. Or was it some politician intent on leaving a legacy?

The Sappho line is the only surviving fragment of a lost poem. Nobody
