It does make sense that helicopters should crash more often
due to mechanical problems when they fly in combat zones.
A bullet cutting your fuel line or unbalancing your turbine
is certainly a serious mechanical problem. But isn’t it bad
propaganda to blame uncertain cases on your own poor
maintenance work? Do you want your enemies to think you’re
incompetent?

but it fits a pattern of early reports of crashes in
