The Law of Power

Prosecutors trumpet, when they secure a high-ranking conviction, that nobody is above the law. And they can get away with it because prosecutors are above the law, just as (as we know from the daily news) many others are. But if you’re genuinely powerful, like the U.S. government, you don’t need to reach that deep into the bag of tricks. Great corporations will do your bidding and say it was their own idea, and they won’t even forward your threats to Wikileaks. So you see, my plan to become king of the world is nearly complete. With one slight adjustment at the top so that my word is law, truly no one will be above it.
