8 November 2010 - medicine

Medicine is what you do instead of repairs when you have to
debug a machine that you don’t understand. Lately many are
interested in the interaction between coding bugs and
invading bugs, but I’m more interested in the design bugs.
If you’re optimized for a broken world, doesn’t it make
sense that you should be correspondingly broken?
clue:
coding bugs - bad genes (mutations and rare bad alleles)
invading bugs - infectious agents
design bugs - bad stuff that evolves anyway
give me a clue so sweet and true
