23 December 2009 - Copenhagen 2
< yesterday --

Back in the good old days, when we conducted affairs of state by
ferocious primal instinct, political unifications came about in
great wars of conquest. But after the signal success of operations
research in World War II the beancounters rose to power. Blind to
visions of glory, these milquetoasts quivered with short-termism,
fearing “But if we use the nukes everybody will die!” That’s why
today we have bootless boondoggles like the Copenhagen summit.
Bah! Where is your ancestral human ruthlessness? One good
nuclear winter would put paid to global warming.
