Have you seen the recent news stories about roller coaster accidents? We know that when fuel prices crank up, airline service rolls down so that you can’t get a square meal on a round trip. Thus the airlines have started to advertise the excitement of flying—the thrilling security checks (will you end up in Gitmo?), the unpredictable weather diversions (will you end up in Cincinnati?), the electrifying risk of mechanical breakdown (will you end?). If the flight is entertaining enough, they’ll be able to leave out the movie.
