How to Write a Novel, Lesson Six

Now that your book is nearly complete, it is time to add the finishing touch with one last decision: What genre? This is at heart a marketing decision, so don’t be afraid to define your audience for the first time (now that you are finished, the ignorant crowd can no longer savage your creativity). When you’ve made your decision, turn to the Global Replace feature of your word processing software. If you’re going for a western, for example, change “car” to “horse”.
