Why do financial bubbles happen? On the one hand, dollars are a sign of dirt, just like soapy water, and people like to play with soapy water. But ultimately, bubbles happen because humans live in the future. If only we lived in the past, like respectable rocks, we wouldn't imagine the pretty thing was already close enough to hold.
