We don't need to stop plastic pollution. What pollution? Nature can take care of itself. Plastic carries energy that organisms can exploit. Let it go long enough, and we'll get birds that hunt plastic bags and moles that dig for buried clamshell containers, with digestion thanks to their microbiomes. Evolution is faster than people think. It might only take 100,000 years.
