Alexander Pope wrote "The proper study of mankind is man." Well, he lived in the past when everybody was wrong, and we know better today: We have general intelligence, so our proper study is everything. But soon this idea will be in the past, and wrong. We're working on artificial general intelligence to relieve ourselves of all this studying.
