If there were such a thing as progress, it would bring all kinds of problems. We'd have to get used to changes, and there'd be trouble when stuff didn't work as planned, and surprise new difficulties, and conflict when some people rightly want to go back to what they had before while others seek new opportunities. How could our disorderly species cope? We sure are lucky that there is nothing new under the sun.
