Trump's first term started with economic optimism due to his false reputation. Optimism is good for the economy, outside of boom times. Biden's term suffered economic pessimism, with negative forecasts turning out wrong over and over as the economy boomed. (Incomprehensibly, recessions do not cause inflation.) Do we misunderstand the world in a way that makes it better? Not most of the time.
