Mix a dollop of knowledge into a vat of self-confidence--instant expert! When we say the chatbot is making stuff up, we're complaining about its shallow expertise. People are more convincing because they know when they're covering up. But the difference from a true instant expert is that the machine sometimes knows what it's talking about.
