The law of gravity is unbending in its zeal to bend paths--but no, that is a pre-Einstein point of view. In general relativity, light and any other loose particles move in a straight line, even light that travels in a circle around a black hole. That's a shape that a straight line can take there. If you find that unpleasant to believe, then you had better not attempt to believe the tax code.
