On 17 April 2002 I observed that games of conquering the world take longer to play than games of conquering the galaxy, but I didn't realize all the implications. It's no use training to save the Earth from alien invasion, which amounts to stomping the army ants before they swarm the planet. The aliens who want to conquer the galaxy will arrive first.
