According to the famous Shaw quote, “The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”

When the river moves, we don’t pluck up our bridges and move them to match, we stabilize the course of the river. We adapt the world to ourselves, because it is the unreasonable thing to do.
