In wartime, the word "journalist" loses its meaning; the job devolves into propaganda amplification, no decisions required. There is no need to distinguish between a Ukrainian announcement that you can believe half of (but which half?), and a Russian announcement like "Kalibr cruise missiles struck a command center in the Dnipropetrovsk region, killing Ukrainian generals and officers", where the only reliable word is "missile".
