It's an uncaring universe, but it's better than nothing, right? Well, almost all of it is nothing, so it's only a little better. Then again, if the universe arose as a quantum fluctuation, then overall it is exactly nothing. For everything you see, somewhere in spacetime there's an antithing that cancels it out. Unless we are the antithing, in which case the universe is worse than nothing.
