10 April 2022 - losing dollars
< yesterday --
tomorrow >
It's a famous human cognitive bias: To lose a dollar is a big loss, to
gain a dollar is a small gain. That's why wars drag on. When the
fighting starts, unless it's a rout both sides start losing dollars.
They can't stop until one side gives up trying to get ahead.
clue:
Figurative dollars. Actual lives and livelihoods.
The bias is called "loss aversion".
