28 July 2021 - caisson correction

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

About the caisson song--”over hill, over dale”? How to idealize military life! Shakespeare’s Puck may have started that way, but soon went “thorough flood, thorough fire.” I think the song should start so:

Through the stream, down the swale,
We will wear the muddy trail
As we portage the caissons along.

clue:

Reversing the usual meaning of “portage”.

give me a clue so sweet and true
