Phone calls have higher social status than any other contact method. You might suppose that sending a letter would document your complaint, but no, they are more likely to lose it. You might imagine that visiting in person would convey more urgency, but no, only if you made an appointment by phone. And the true purpose of a web site contact form is to remind you of the phone number.

All frequently true, in my experience. Why a contact form if the answer is uniformly “phone us at...”?
