The first step in making an electric motor is to separate the raw materials. Mine various ores and smelt metals, pump a little oil to refine and process into chemical precursors for insulation and lubrication. You purify the ingredients then mix them into a new recipe. In the European Parliament elections we see the same process. The old parties are breaking down, and ideas about the new recipe are on the drawing board.
