Sports have fallen behind. Baseball came from an earlier era when, between bouts of fast action, there was time to ponder strategy. In later basketball, it is impossible to avoid infringing rules, so that judging the risk of penalties is part of the game. It has become nostalgic. Where is the sport whose rules are so complex that it is impossible to understand them?
