Back when snakes ruled the world, before October 1945, the diversity of life on Earth was seen to range from the virus to the viper. Today we take a wider view; the range is from the prion to the primate. In the next stage, when robots take over, it will be the rock to the clock, the highest because it can keep track even of nonsensical primate notions like time zones.
