President Trump finds his ideas so obvious that he doesn’t see a need to explain them, but for the less brilliant among us, I thought I’d make an attempt. Why are trade wars so easy to win? Well, you see, other countries aren’t full of honest, hard-working Americans like America is, so of course they take advantage of us, all of us except super deal-makers like Mr. Trump, of course. But they’re not dumb. To win a trade war, all we have to do is stop trading until the cheaters are forced into honesty. If the price of steel goes up, we’ll use some good old-fashioned Yankee ingenuity. Easy!
