27 May 2014 - false conviction rate

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

A recent study estimates the false conviction rate (2.8%-5.2%) for those sentenced to death in the United States by comparing exoneration rates for those awaiting execution, glamorous rock stars with a legal fanbase, to those sentenced but merely rotting in prison, schmoes who’re ignored like the other loser convicts. See the lesson? Status gets you fairness, and all we have to do for accurate justice is put everybody on death row.
