Flowing water is clean. Stagnant water is dirty. It’s true in streams and it’s true in plumbing: Whenever the container is mostly but not entirely stable. But disturb it and muck comes out. So there’s hope for Egypt and even for Syria, but first a lot of changes must flow through.
