And hey, if we miss some of our old species, that’s what genetic engineering is for. The fossil record is full of suggestions. Killed off the corals but still want reefs? No problem! Just recreate the rudist bivalves of the Cretaceous, proven reefbuilders of a hothouse Earth. Wasn’t that easy?
