population: Yeah! We’re better than you!
policy wonk: Is that why you’ve been picking fights? For every neighbor where you didn’t already have a territory dispute, you made one up.
Qin: Everyone needs to respect our core interest of absolute sovereignty over, you know, whatever matters.
historian: China traditionally doesn’t have allies, it has vassal states.
Qin: I keep telling you, my ancient traditions make me super strong.
policy wonk: But brittle. Eventually your neighbors will overcome their suspicion of each other and ally against you.
Qin: Haha, yeah right!
