Don’t underestimate Rupert Murdoch. To build a conglomerate that’s both commercially successful and politically effective, he has mastered the skill of telling people what they want to hear while saying only what he wants to say, a fundamental yet deep ability, while maintaining party discipline down to the lowest junior editor. As a result he built a great trust, which means a business so powerful that we can’t trust it.
