1. Political power is inversely proportional to importance. For example, in a rich country any local drought or blight is no danger and farmers make up a tiny proportion of the population, but farmers have political power and win price supports that harm everyone else. In a poor country, famines are possible and farmers may be the majority of the population, but they have no political power.
2. Therefore who we choose for president is the least important of all decisions. We should be voting on what infomercials will be shown on late-night TV.
