If you find a bug on your car, my suggestion is:

1. Get photos. We want to see!
2. You don’t know it’s really a bug. Maybe it’s a bomb.
3. So disable it if you can, cutting any wires. And either way, put it down in a safe place.
4. Call the local police and tell them that you found an unknown device resembling a bomb. If you’re lucky, they’ll blow it up. And since you went through channels, you minimize the amount of trouble you’re already in.
5. If necessary, the photos will clear you of having put the “bomb” there yourself, because they’ll show what it really was.
