The important fact about a large organization is that it is large. It is also clumsy, inefficient, and rude, but what is important is that it can absent-mindedly crush you under its weight and never notice. Wave your tiny flag, tiny crushed ant! Because how else, besides accepting the risk, are you going to get a car, and hot water, and cheap food, and a nation that doesn’t collapse in civil war?
