Basic tenet: The way you get out of a financial crisis is the same way you got in: By imagining that everything is OK when you ought to know better.
Corollary: The purpose of managing reality is to manage sentiment. Sentiment is what counts, but not everyone has the true religion.
Followup: The whole system would be simpler and more robust if everybody bought the story. Figuratively, that is; actual buying and selling are to be sidelined.
