In another example, state lotteries are bad because they extract more money from the people who can least afford it. So they must be good, because they work as a slow-motion eugenics plan. With natural selection acting against foolish risk-takers who end up with, on balance, lower personal resources, the unfavorable psychological traits will be bred out of the population in only a few thousand generations.
