1 April 2010 - school bullying

When I was in school, bullying was controlled by punishing the victim. That worked well for everyone who had power; it discouraged reports and provided scapegoats. Today, with school shootings and suicides increasingly in the news, we need to up our game. There is a danger of accountability sneaking into the system through the public entrance. That’s why I believe that every school should stage an annual attack by a local extremist group or dangerous lunatic. Journalists will soon lose interest, and teachers and administrators will finally be able to return to the important business of oppressing the weak.
