Even stupidity is AI-complete, but I don’t let that slow me down. Once we have true artificial intelligence we’ll be able to filter spam optimally. But since the spammers will also have AI technology, spam will be indistinguishable from human content, and the optimal spam filter will be the no-op. Online information will be controlled by whoever can afford the most bandwidth. The machines won’t even need to organize themselves to defeat humanity—we’ll do it for them.
