Natural Selection is Too Slow in Modern Times

When I am king of the world, children will be forcibly genetically engineered not to yawn. Yawning is a social signal that helps you get to bed on time even when you have friends over. And really, who needs that any more? If you sleep well, then you’re not worrying enough.

The purpose of yawning is not known, but the only theories I find plausible are ones where it’s primarily a signal.
