31 December 2008 - reconditioned pancakes

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

In the new year, as I recondition used pancakes with a Brechtian alienation device while gazing back over the preapocalyptic wasteland of recent history, I’ll have plenty of time to ponder the mistakes of other people who got me into this fix. I can’t very well vote out the captains of finance, but we still need bread and circuses, and I know just who should perform.

clue:

Prompted by a friend’s rant for revenge against financiers. Brecht’s use of the “Verfremdungseffekt” in theater was to promote intellectual rather than emotional engagement by the audience.

take oh take this clue away
