Quantum mechanics is random, but it doesn’t matter because macroscopic objects are nearly deterministic, which doesn’t matter because (as Poincare knew over a hundred years ago) even deterministic systems can’t be predicted due to chaos. The greatest discoveries are those that don’t matter, such as this very observation.
