programmer: Internet Protocol, part of the basic fabric of the network. Wait, did you mean TCP instead of TSP?
oligopolist: Shut up. You’re saying the internet runs on intellectual property?
programmer: Well, we consider that nobody owns TCP or IP, they’re fundamental and everybody relies on them.
oligopolist: Of course IP is fundamental. Nobody owns it?
programmer: Not for practical purposes.
oligopolist: This is a disaster! I’m calling the lawyers! I’m suing everybody! Theoretical Copyright Protection indeed!
