25 January 2002 - Penryn and Potter

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

The eight police officers of the town of Penryn, Pennsylvania (famous for starting with the letters “pen”) refused to direct traffic at a YMCA event, on the grounds that the YMCA teaches witchcraft by reading Harry Potter books to children. Perhaps the Potter-proof Penryn, Pennsylvania police fear that their kids will fly off on broomsticks.

They have their plan for improving the world. My plan for improving the world is to find these people who do not understand the concept of fiction. I’ll show them Gilligan’s Island and give them a boat.
