Why The Daily Whale Has So Few Subscribers

Listen, my children. I have come to an Understanding. Often you may have wondered—many small readers do—what the dark Secret may be that draws writers down the crabgrass path of Cynicism to the ultimate fate of Boring Bitterness. This Secret I have illuminated. Here it is: The writer must have an Audience. The Audience must be kept happy. Are you happy, my wee ones? Are you Content that I have Style? Well ya damn well better be, with all the work I put in to write down to ya!
