Darwersi

The othello program Darwersi, by Olivier Arsac with some collaborators, is named from the letters DARWinian revERSI because its evaluation function was tuned by a genetic algorithm. This program is far weaker than Logistello or Hannibal, but it’s still powerful by human standards.

The program is free for download. There are variants that run under various Windows and unix operating systems. Darwersi 2.0 was released late in 1998 and is said to be stronger and more reliable than the previous version. Darwersi 2.1 in April 1999 fixes a bug.
